There’s plenty of new and welcoming energy that greets people when they arrive in downtown Prince George. Part of that positive vibe exists thanks to the Downtown Prince George façade improvement grant program, which has been boosting curb appeal for the past several years.
Launched in 2012 to support downtown building owners and tenants in improving the character and appearance ofour streetscapes , the program has seen significant success with dozens of owners taking advantage of the incentive.
Attractive materials such as brick, metal and wood accents, along with new and vivid colours and signage have all contributed to enhancing buildings, alleyways and storefronts and created a more welcoming environment for residents and visitors, alike.
Noteworthy projects recently completed such as the CrossRoads Brewery PhotoFax and the EDI buildings on George Street are just a few examples of more than 40 projects that have been approved for the program in the past few years.
Downtown Prince George is proud to partner with the City of Prince George and Northern Development Initiative Trust for the façade grant that commits to covering a 25% reimbursement grant of up to $5,000 per application. That, coupled with other downtown revitalization plans, has helped draw new businesses and organizations to a neighbourhood that is primed for progress.
