Eating lunch outside in the warm, summer sunshine is almost always a good idea. In Prince George, local eateries are taking that good idea and making it great by offering delicious lunchtime fare during Foodie Fridays at Canada Games Plaza.

The summer only event, which was trialed in 2016 and ran June through August in 2017, attracts many downtown workers, but has also proven to draw city residents who want to experience freshly made food in an inviting atmosphere. In the past, Foodie Fridays has had representation from a variety of kitchens such as White Goose Bistro, Spicy Greens, Zaffron Cuisine, Smokehouse Restaurant and the Frozen Paddle, among others. This year’s event will run from June 22 through the end of August.

It even won Prince George acknowledgement as a “best community project” from the BC Economic Development Association, which recognizes city-hosted programs that have the potential for others to follow.
